GARAGE JOURNAL / HOW WE WORK
How we write guides here.
At Butt Pucker Customs, we read the manual, we link the source, and we do not pretend we tested something we did not. If we have wrenched it, we say what broke. If we have not, we say that too.
Research and original experience
Technical buying guides draw on manufacturer documentation, application tools and product instructions. Sources are linked in the article so you can check the current details. A researched shortlist is identified as research; it is not presented as a hands-on test or a measured product ranking.
Project stories describe the specific project shown. We do not turn one build into a promise about every machine or claim experience with products we have not tested.
Fitment before an affiliate link
A useful recommendation explains the job, who it may suit and the specification or application to confirm. For model-specific parts, the exact machine and fitted components matter. Category-search links are labeled as browsing options, not confirmed matches for your vehicle.
How affiliate links work
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you follow a paid link and make a qualifying purchase, BPC may receive a commission. That relationship is disclosed on the site and around buying recommendations. Amazon handles current listing prices, stock, delivery and checkout.
Amazon product reviews and star ratings are not BPC test results. We do not invent ratings, customer testimonials, performance gains or urgency to support a recommendation.
Review dates and changes
Guides show their publication or review date. Product specifications and instructions can change after publication, so check the current manufacturer's guidance and listing before ordering. Material content updates should change the review date; a date alone is not evidence of a new product test.
What the guides cover
The journal focuses on planning, comparisons and buying decisions. It does not replace your vehicle's service information or a qualified inspection. Installation specifications belong to the exact vehicle and part instructions.
